Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and JakeStudios ("we", "us"), the maker of Adventurer's Aide. By using the app, or by creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. The app

Adventurer's Aide helps you build characters and run campaigns for fifth-edition tabletop roleplaying games. Everything on your device is free to use. Plans add features that need our servers. You must be at least 13 to create an account.

2. Plans and subscriptions

• Buying. Plans are sold as subscriptions through Google Play. The price, the billing period and what the plan includes are shown before you buy, and Google Play's terms also apply to the purchase.
• Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. Cancel in Google Play at least a day before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep the plan's features until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies.
• Price changes. If a price changes, Google Play tells you in advance, as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
• Plans not yet available. A plan shown as "Coming soon" isn't for sale.
• Tester access. If we've given you a plan free for testing, it's a courtesy that we can end at any time.

3. Your account

Your account is tied to your email address, and you sign in with a code we email to you. Keep access to that email address, since it's the only way into your account. One account per person. You can delete your account at any time, in the app's Settings or at adventurers-aide.app/delete-account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription.

4. Your content

What you create in the app (characters, campaigns, homebrew, notes) is yours. It's stored on your device. If you use a feature that sends your content to our servers, you give us permission to store it and pass it to the people you share it with, only to provide that feature.

Please don't put content in the app that you don't have the right to use, such as text copied from copyrighted books.

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

• try to break into, overload or disrupt our servers, or get around rate limits or plan checks;
• use the app to harass anyone or to share unlawful content;
• resell access to the app or its plans.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

6. Game content and attribution

Adventurer's Aide is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast. The app's code, design, artwork and original text are ours.

7. Keeping the service running

We work to keep the online features available, but they may sometimes be down, change or end. The app's on-device tools keep working without them. If we end a paid feature, we'll tell you in the app in advance. The app stores your work on your device, so export anything you want to keep: we can't recover what's lost from a device.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live that can't be limited by agreement.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, and disputes go to the courts in Leon County, Florida, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app about any significant change before it applies. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
