Adventurer's Aide · Last updated 13 October 2026

Adventurer's Aide is a character and campaign app for fifth-edition tabletop roleplaying games, made by JakeStudios ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, who else handles it, how long it's kept and how to delete it. Questions go to privacy@adventurers-aide.app.

The short version

Using the app without an account

The app works fully offline. Your characters, campaigns and homebrew are stored on your device and are not sent to us.

What we collect if you have an account

WhatWhyHow long
Your email addressTo send you sign-in codes and identify your account. There are no passwords.Until you delete your account
An account ID (a random identifier)To link your plan to your accountUntil you delete your account
Your plan and purchase records: which plan, whether it's active, renewal and expiry dates, and the store's transaction identifiersTo give you the features you pay for, on any device you sign in onUntil you delete your account
A log of subscription events (for example "renewed" or "cancelled"), with your account IDTo keep your plan up to date90 days
Sign-in code requests: the email address, a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, and the timeTo limit how often codes can be requested and stop abuseAbout a day
Tester access: if you're one of our testers, your email address is on our tester listTo give testers the DM plan freeUntil testing ends, or you ask us to remove it

When a purchase creates an account, we also keep that purchase's random anonymous ID, with nothing that links it to you or your account. That stops one purchase from creating many accounts.

We don't collect your name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, advertising ID, usage analytics or crash reports.

Payments

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play. We never see your card or bank details. Google Play tells us, through RevenueCat, that a purchase was made and what it was for. Google's handling of the payment is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Who handles your data for us

These services process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

When the app or this website connects to these services, they see your IP address, as any website does, and keep it in their security and request logs for a limited time. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising.

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Deleting your account

Open the app's Settings and choose Delete account, or use adventurers-aide.app/delete-account. Either way we email you a code to confirm. Deleting removes:

Everything on your device stays. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription: cancel it in Google Play, or it keeps renewing. Deleted data may remain in our hosting provider's backups for a short time until they're replaced. If you can't reach your email any more, write to privacy@adventurers-aide.app.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you. Write to privacy@adventurers-aide.app and we'll answer within 30 days. Some places, such as the EU, the UK and California, give you these rights in law; we honor them for everyone. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app's accounts and plans aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we'll delete it.

Security

Everything sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Sign-in codes expire after an hour. Access to our servers is limited to us, and the keys that unlock them never ship in the app.

Changes to this policy

When the app starts handling more data, such as when campaigns can go online, we'll update this policy before that feature arrives. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app about any significant change.
